The first "Olympic" Mass for the Italian Azzurri mission at the Coastal Village in Sochi. Don Mario Lusek, the team chaplain, officiated at the function emphasising the sacrifices made by athletes in order to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games, "because thanks to the work put in with dedication and passion you always see the light of success." Don Lusek then recalled that "no goal is impossible for those who believe," addressing his personal encouragement to the Italia Team. Among those present was Arianna Fontana, who won bronze at Vancouver 2010, and all her short track speed skating companions."
