New Board of Trustees to ensure transparency in the bid

colosseo1 copiaA Board of Trustees, composed of leading members of the Italian legal world, has been appointed to oversee Rome's bid for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

 

The committee will be responsible for ensuring Rome's bid meets the highest international standards of transparency, operating and contractual procedures. It will also ensure the bid is fully compliant with the International Olympic Committee's rules and regulations.

 

In doing this the Rome 2024 bid hopes to leave a lasting legacy by setting a new benchmark for administrative standards that will be applicable to other opportunities and events in the future.

The committee is made up of some of the most senior figures in the Italian legal establishment: 

 

- Professor Raffaele Squitieri, President of the Court of Auditors

- Professor Enzo Moavero Milanesi jurist, former Minister for European Affairs, Director of the Law School of the Luiss Guido Carli Univeristy

- Professor Giorgio Santacroce, First President of the Supreme Court 

- Lawyer Livia Pomodoro, Italian jurist former President of the Court of Milan and President of the Milan Center for Food Law and Policy

- Giovanni Legnini Vice President of the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors. 

 

The first meeting of the committee was held on Monday with CONI president Giovanni Malagò, Rome 2024 President Luca di Montezemolo, Vice President Luca Pancalli and General Coordinator Diana Bianchedi.
