CONI: the program of the Centenary celebration presented
CONI embraces history: the 100 years of Italian sport successes will be celebrated, from the 8th to the 10th of June, in order to honor the recurrence of the founding. President Giovanni Malagò has presented today the complete program of the expected initiatives in three days in the Foro Italico area. A lot of sport but also art, music, shows and special events, in order to display the uniqueness of this legendary anniversary of national sport.
Former President of CONI and CIO member Mario Pescante has taken part in the meeting with the media, together with General Secretary Roberto Fabbricini, Vice Secretary of CONI Carlo Mornati, at the presence of CONI Servizi President Franco Chimenti and General Director Michele Uva.
President Malagò has launched a message of hope: "This is day of celebration. We are 100, we have the possibility of a resurgence after touching the rock bottom as a country, we must transmit to youngsters a different message comparing to the last twenty years."
A sincere wish by the former CONI President and today CIO member Mario Pescante. "The country must have the intention to get a revenge, to try again. Let's take heart, we are able to give also a message of change to the country. A lot, a lot of wishes for the future of our sport and of CONI in the next 100 years."
In the course of the press conference a small sample of the video created by RCS and RAI Sport has been presented, which will be sold with the Gazzetta dello sport starting from the 9th of June, with the title "100 anni di emozioni azzurre" ("100 years of Azzurri emotions), displayed by Vice Director Umberto Zapelloni and RAI Commercial Director Luigi di Siervo. President of IOC, Thomas Bach, held a press conference Monday, June 9 at 15, in the Salone d'Onore of the CONI.
