CONI announces that it has received an email this morning containing terrorist threats ahead of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. CONI has also learnt that a similar email was sent to the IOC and to other Olympic Committees.

CONI has forwarded the contents of the email to the authorities in charge of international security for the appropriate follow-up.

At the same time the Italian National Olympic Committee expresses calm and trust in the security measures that have been guaranteed to the IOC, the International Federations and the Olympic Committees by the Organisers.
