The second edition of the European Games, scheduled for 2019, will take place in Minsk. The decision was taken – with a large majority – at the 45th General Assembly of European Olympic Committees in Belarus, which was attended by the President of CONI, Giovanni Malagò and Secretary General Roberto Fabbricini.

The announcement was made by the President of the Republic of Belarus and of the local Olympic Committee, Alexander Lukashenko. Minsk (photo credit: noc.by) was the only candidate. The first European Games, which was established during the 41st EOC General Assembly held in Rome in December 2012, took place in 2015 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
