The President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, has sent a congratulatory message to Malagò, the President of CONI in celebration of the first two medals won by the Italian team at the 22nd Winter Olympic Games.

The message was as follows:

"Dear Malagò, congratulations on a good start. Please give my personal huge congratulations to Christof Innerhofer and Armin Zöggeler. I hope to be telephoning you very soon to celebrate more happy sporting achievements. I am thinking of you all".
