Presentation of the partnership with "Eccellenze Campane". Malagò: we are proud of Made in Italy
Naples and the Campania region, with its flavours and traditions, will also be present at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the 31st edition of the Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro from the 5th to 21st August. Eccellenze Campane the agribusiness centre located in Via Brin 69, thanks to the partnership with Casa Italia, will actually play a prominent role in the prestigious event just a few days away. Details were presented today in Rome at the headquarters of Coni, by Coni President Giovanni Malagò and the President of Eccellenze Campane, Paolo Scudieri.
In particular, thanks to the agreement with the Italian Olympic Committee, the centre dedicated to quality agricultural food production of the Campania region will be responsible for the selection and quality control of the products for approximately 1,000 meals a day that will be served to guests at Casa Italia, prepared by Coni within the Costa Brava Clube, located in western Rio. It will do so by selecting the finest typical products from the Campania region and Italy available in Brazil, and by choosing locally available fresh foods. For the occasion, Eccellenze Campane, through a team led by Enzo Politelli, will also look after assistance and coordination of the catering activities.
It is a way to let people appreciate the best that the Campania region can offer in terms of flavours, culture and culinary tradition, which is affirmed in the extraordinary nutritional and health value of the Mediterranean diet, recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, and which is best reflected in the Campania region. It is also a way for Eccellenze Campane to once again promote local products abroad.
Eccellenze Campane has always worked alongside the world of sport, it was an official supplier of the USA Pavilion at Expo 2015, served Casa Italia at the European Games in Baku, at the World Cup in Brazil in 2014, the Italian Super Cup match between Naples and Juventus in Doha and the Davis cup match between Italy and Great Britain. The latest initiative, and proof of its commitment to sport, was the sponsorship agreement signed with the Star Judo Club Napoli of Master Gianni Maddaloni, the facility in the heart of Scampia that represents an example of liveability and civility and a place of education and training for young people.
President Malagò (in the photo Mezzelani-GMT) proudly highlighted the content of the collaboration. "CONI has formed many partnerships with Italian and foreign companies. We have to give them visibility and we think this is the best way to let them truly feel the Made in Italy. We are specialists in exasperating things that don't work and that created problems for the country, but thanks to the foresight of Scudieri we have the possibility of redemption for this area, and to show all the beautiful things it has to offer. With this agreement, we wanted to give a strong identity to the Coni brand and Italian products. We are proud of this partnership".
"We are proud to be a partner again this year at the Olympic Games - said Paolo Scudieri, President of Eccellenze Campane - which will allow us to promote abroad the characteristics, the food and wine and cultural resources of Campania. An important showcase for our excellences that we hope will also serve to plan and develop new activities together with CONI. It confirms that the promotion and safeguarding of Made in Italy, which we perform with tenacity and determination, is the best tool to promote the area beyond regional boundaries".
