Started in the first round with a win over the Algerian Rebahi Salim, 18 year-old from Messina lost then against the Venezuelan Luis Gonzalez finishing on the repechage scoreboard. After beating the British Peter Miles, in the next combat Manzi blamed an arm injury for a forbidden technique (a lever allowed only in the fight on the ground) on the opponent, the French Jolan Florimont, which will be disqualified. The promise of Airon Judo 90 Furci Siculo, followed at the YOG by the coach Nicola Moraci, bravely tried to face the host in the quarterfinals, but there was no luck. The azzurro, already under the medical supervision of the Head of Health Care Stephen Dragoni, will undergo diagnostic tests to learn the extent of damage, even fearing a partial ligament injury.
