secondaA workshop on sporting venues, organised by Coni Servizi and Lega Pro (Pro League), to deal with an issue of great significance in the context of strategies aimed at the growth of national sport. An opportunity to learn more about the law passed by the Letta Cabinet, in force since 27 December, called on to encourage the development and redevelopment of new facilities where competitive sport can be practised.

The workshop, which opened with the participation of the President of CONI, Giovanni Malagò, was attended by among others, the President of Coni Servizi, Franco Chimenti, with the General Manager, Michele Uva, President of the Lega Pro, Mario Macalli, with the Director general, Francesco Ghirelli, entrepreneurs Brunello Cucinelli and Maurizio Stirpe, the mayors of Pavia and L'Aquila, Alessandro Cattaneo and Massimo Cialente, the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Sports Credit Institute, Paolo D'Alessio, the Head of Culture, Sport and Youth Policies, Vincenzo Santoro, and the jurist Avilio Presutti.

Over the course of the day the opportunities for the development of Coni Servizi-Lega Pro agreement were highlighted, by drawing up an initial assessment on the projects of the stadiums without barriers and of the sustainable stadiums in Lega Pro.

President Malagò thanked those present and renewed his thoughts on the discussion concerning the venue. “Thanks to the new law, there are definite times and simplified procedures. Coni Servizi has the unique skills internally to assist anyone who engages in this virtuous cycle of growth that results in a great benefit nationally, because life is getting longer and the demand for sport should be indulged at every age”.

The President of Coni Servizi, Franco Chimenti, has renewed the contents of the agreement with the Lega Pro. “The development of the facilities provides an opportunity that should be taken advantage of as sport is synonymous with health. Coni Servizi is equipped to work alongside the Lega Pro, whom I thank for encouraging an inevitable process”.

Francesco Ghirelli instead dealt with the analysis of the four year period for the Lega Pro stadiums, through the integrated system with Coni Servizi , focusing on the goal: “To restructure and build stadiums, starting with simple things because the facilities have an affect on culture”.

The new era of sports facilities has come to be in the name of the Law entered into force on 27 December, whose key points were illustrated thanks to the participation of the Director General of Coni Servizi, Michele Uva. “We started off with certain assumptions, in the form of numbers, related to the 352 sport disciplines practised by around 22 million people and the 16 million total viewers according to data from the SIAE (Italian Copyright Licensing Agency). Then there are 4 basic principles underlying the law: clear time limits between 12 and 14 months, sustainability, also in management, more sport for everyone, by considering the capacity of 2,000 seats outdoors and 500 seats indoors and finally, the essential synergy between the public and private sectors. The CONI Servizi-Lega Pro agreement is key to a true cultural transformation”.

Avilio Presutti supplemented the speech with the legal point of view, talking about law 147 as a "tool to reorganise the system”. The Extraordinary Commissioner of the ICS, Paolo D'Alessio, recalled "the advisory and financing role of the Sports Credit Institute: fixed times amount to less risk for the bank”. The event came to a close with the participation of the President of Lega Pro, Mario Macalli. “This law opens up significant possibilities, developing agreements on venues is essential and a must. We have faith in the work of CONI and Malagò”.
