The CONI announces that a positive case has been found following the tests carried out by the Laboratory of Rome. The first sample analysed belonging to Luca Calandro, an affiliate of the Italian Rugby Federation, was found to contain THC Metabolite> DL. This was found following the competition testing provided for by the CONI NADO Control Committee on 8 February 2014 in Rovigo, during the final of the Trofeo Eccellenza (Italian Rugby Championship).

The First Chamber of the National Anti-Doping Tribunal upheld the application for a precautionary suspension proposed by the CONI Anti-Doping Prosecution Office.
