History of FITARCO
Costitution
Although the Italian Archers Union (ACI) - founded in Milan in the twenties - was one of the founders of the International Federation (FITA), in 1931, there is only one organisation coordinating archery activities in Italy forty years later. The new federation was in fact founded in Milan on 17 December 1961 by the five organisations operating at the time. After being given the classification as a "protected sport" by CONI (16 March 1967) a decade later, on 22 December 1971, the new Federation was admitted as part of the Olympic Committee as a recognised sport. On 14 July 1973 FITARCO became a supporting member and on 18 January 1978, was officially recognised at during the 51st National Board meeting of CONI.
