Giorgia Bordignon lifted a fantastic silver medal and made history. With 232 kg (104 kg in the snatch - Italian record - and 128 in the sprint), the Italian weightlifter finished second in the 64 kg, behind only the Canadian Charron (236). Bronze medal for Chen Wen Huei of Taipei. This was the second Italian medal in the discipline, after Mirko Zanni's bronze, and the first-ever for an Italian woman at the Olympic Games.
