CONI
lottomaticamezzelanigmt22 cr 1The 254th CONI National Council met this afternoon at 3:00 PM in the Foro Italico Salone d'Onore to discuss the following order of the day:

1) Approval of the minutes of the meeting held on 13 June 2017: unanimously approved.

2) President's announcement: Malagò opened the works by remembering celebrities in the sports world who have died in the last month and contextually highlighting the outstanding results the Italians achieved in the same period. The CEO then reported to the Council on the legal procedures for the mandates, pointing out the historic breakthroughs of the applicable regulations of the House and Senate, also in light of the rules that govern the international sports environment. The importance of the introduction of the Jus Soli law was also represented, although complying with the government and parliamentary works. Many athletes cannot compete in the Olympic Games wearing Italian national colours and in these conditions the playing field is uneven. It was announced that the young cyclist, Sofia Colinelli will be the Italian standard bearer at EYOF, scheduled in Gyor from 23 through 29 July, whereas the third edition of the European Sports Week is scheduled for the last week of September.

Malagò reminded that the law on defibrillators has gone into effect. After years, an indispensable benchmark has been reached, safeguarding the specificity of sports disciplines. The CEO then spoke about the requests received from numerous federal leaders to review the organic mechanisms with respect to the needs found, highlighting that it will be an issue that will be handled in the coming months and that it is also connected to the synergies and potential merging between disciplines in the FSN and DSA area.

The members of the Council were also informed of the Guarantee Committee's opinion on the interpretation of the blank sheets-empty sheets and the situation of the Italian Sport Shooting Union: Obrist was elected in October by a wide margin, but 9 months later the decree of appointment from the Responsible Minister never arrived with consequent effects on federal and sports activity. Malagò reminded of the imminent third edition of the CONI Trophy that will be held in the Marche region in September. On the possible Italian Olympic candidacies, after the CIO decision – which formalised the double assignment of the 2024 and 2028 Summer Games – to imagine a future scenario we will need to wait for the Lima session and the political elections. Zoeggeler completed the formalities for candidacy as a CIO athlete member: the Council then paid their compliments to Manuela Di Centa who graduated with a degree in Political Science. It was then reminded that the States General of Italian Sport will be held on 15 and 16 November in the presence of all the stakeholders and the President of ISTAT. The Ministry of Health was also asked for an analysis on the repercussions of motor activity. A final thought went to Angelo Binaghi on behalf of the entire Council for a speedy recovery following a health problem he had last week.

On the report and on other issues, the following people participated: Ernfried Obrist (Sport Shooting), Ugo Salines (Sport Associations), Vincenzo Manco (Sport Associations), Orazio Arancio (Technicians Representative), Carlo Tavecchio (Football), Bruno Cattaneo (Volleyball), Sabatino Aracu (Roller Sports).
